Christmas on the Rocks Returns for Its 13th Season

TheaterWorks Hartford presents the 13th season of its quirky holiday show, Christmas on the Rocks, directed by Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero. This unique production features six playwrights, each contributing their distinct take on holiday stories. The cast includes familiar faces such as Jen Cody and Richard Kline, who reprises his role as The Bartender, alongside newcomer Matthew McGloin as The Man. Set on Christmas Eve in a dilapidated bar, the story unfolds with the bartender serving drinks to an array of unexpected adult guests from beloved holiday specials, who share their humorous Christmas experiences. Artistic Director Ruggiero expresses excitement about Kline's return and the continued involvement of fan-favorite Cody, along with the fresh talent of McGloin. Christmas on the Rocks is a collection of unconventional holiday narratives written by various playwrights, running from November 25 to December 23, 2025.
